Bring in traffic

There are many ways to bring in traffic. The first one is to register your url with all the popular search engines. However when you start a site it is generally going to have a low page rank. That is why you want to bring in traffic by other ways. This can be by leaving comments on other peoples sites and blogs, even discussion forums. You can tell all your friends about it however thats not going to be much anyway. But by leaving comments on related blogs will bring in a fair amount. By having lots of original content on your site will help you with the search engine results

Get people to come back

Generally by having a site with unique content will do this. So come up with originally content and update your site regularly. Having discussing forum can work to as people will leave messages and come back to check new comments. This will also increase traffic through search engines as your site will have more content.

Good site layout

Generally blend your adsense ads into the page, something like i have done. Make it a easy to use site and use your common sense to make an easy to use site.

Joel Comms e Book 'Getting Started With Blogging and Google Adsense'

I recently read a Free E book by Joel Comm which was 'Getting Started With Blogging and Google Adsense'. I found it quite interesting and thought that money can be made by blogging if you can get the traffic and if you can get people back. Although i have not really made much money blogging at this stage and only have made money though other websites with adsense, i do think it is possible to make some cash. The main points that i learn from the book is how to

Increase traffic to you blog
Keep you blog interesting.

Keeping a blog interesting is not too hard. A big problem is getting traffic to your site, i found the best ways are from link exchange, search engines and comments on related blogs.

Google Adsense

I just wanted to spend some time on Google Adsense, as it can make you some money. What is adsense?

adsense is a program by google called Google Adsense which you can put ads on your site. Which can bring you some money. There should be some on this page - they look like that.


If you already have a website and get a decent amount of people there you WILL make money with adsense. When i say decent i mean around 1000 people a day. I suspect you will have a couple of hundred of dollars within a month. All depends on the design, content and layout. If you Google the net you will find people trying to sell training packages too you, i'm very interest too see how good they are. As some people makes lots of money building content based sites. You can even put it on your blog like i have done. (I think there at the sides of this blog). Anyway people claim to make heaps from this. So at this point i decided to try it and put it on one of my brothers sites - http://www.slingshotgames.com/ . Which is a flash based site. And yeah its great. When your getting over 1000 people a day you can make some nice money. I'm sorry i cant tell you how much a click you get and all my stats due to Google policies. Do give it a go what you got to lose- even if its just on your blog

Something with google analytics or Not

I'm not sure why but I recently signed up with Google Analytics. Which is a tool by Google where you can put a code in the html script of your site and can track stats. Like entrance pages, bounce rates, popular pages, average time spent on a page and so on. However this seems all great and im not sure why this happened put here goes. When i put it on, my traffic of my site decreased as I was monitoring it using Google adsense and my Google adsense clicks drooped as well. I was wondering why this is happening. Did the code stop people from the loading the page?

That was my biggest concern. Anyway if you would like to test it for me check it at http://www.slingshotgames.com/. Great site by the way with some great games. All of them built by my brother and I . Worth just checking it out for playing the games and im not trying to promote it, just want to know whats happening.

Google Analytics is really useful as you can see what country your visitors live in and can easily tell that its not just you checking the blog over and over again. Also its good as it tells you where people are coming from, if it is a direct link, a search engine or is being referred. As what i was talking about before i think it has nothing to do with it and it won't block your page up.
